Lubricating oil selection standards for air compressors


      The lubricating oil in the air compressor has two main functions: one is to reduce the friction and wear of the machine; the other is to seal, cool and reduce operating noise. Therefore, a good lubrication condition is an important condition for long-term reliable operation of air compressors.

     With the continuous development of modern science and technology, some special types of air compressors have emerged. There is a certain gap between mechanical parts, between the rotor and the shell without sliding contact, and oil-free lubrication is realized; small dry screw air compression And sliding vane air compressors can also work under non-lubricated conditions; work at extremely low temperatures (-20°C to -50°C or lower), or piston air compressors that compress high-purity gas, to prevent lubrication Condensation of the medium or mixing of lubricating solution into the compressed air can also adopt oil-free lubrication.

1. Lubrication classification of screw compressors

There are two types of lubrication for screw air compressors: dry (no oil lubrication) and wet (oil injection lubrication). The main parts of its friction and lubrication are: the female and male rotor (slave and driving screw) and the stator (cylinder or casing), between the female and male rotors and their synchronous rotating gears, and

External bearings that support the rotation of the rotor, etc. The dry oil-free screw air compressor often maintains a small gap between the casing and the rotor, and the rotor can maintain a certain gap by means of a synchronous gear for non-contact rotation, which can achieve non-lubricated compression. The external bearings and synchronous gears still need separate oil lubrication.

2.The composition and principle of the oil-injected screw air compressor and its lubrication system, and the calculation method of the oil injection volume: at the position where the screw air compressor starts to exhaust, the oil is injected into the air chamber through the oil injection nozzle to make the compression The relatively rotating parts in the air chamber are lubricated, cooled and sealed. The gas discharged from the compressor is called the oil-gas mixture. The oil droplets with a larger diameter (20-50um) in the gas storage tank of the oil-gas separator are separated first, while the misty oil-gas below 8um will be further separated in precision oil. The separated oil is filtered and cooled, and then sucked into the air chamber again. Of course, the structural parts used in different types of compressors are different. Due to its lubrication, oil-injected screw compressors can obtain higher efficiency compared with dry types, and the male rotor can directly drive the female rotor to rotate.

There is no need to synchronize gear transmission, reducing drive parts.

3. Pay attention to the working status of the compressor, and regularly check and adjust the amount of lubricating oil in a timely manner to prevent excessive lubricating oil and insufficient lubricating oil. When the amount of oil is too large or insufficient, it should be shut down for maintenance in time, and spare parts and spare parts should be replaced if necessary.

4. Maintain the oil temperature in the lubrication system. If the oil temperature is too high, the viscosity of the oil will decrease, and the oil is prone to oxidative deterioration; if the oil temperature is too low, the viscosity will increase, and the fluidity will become poor, both of which will cause insufficient lubrication. The oil temperature is directly measured by the oil temperature sensor. The oil temperature can also be indirectly reflected from the internal cooling circulating water or the cooling water inlet and outlet temperature of the oil cooler. If the cooling water temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the working temperature and viscosity of the lubricating oil.

Therefore, when the summer high temperature hits, you should check whether the air compressor lubricating oil needs to be replaced, whether the amount of lubricating oil is sufficient for use, whether the replaced lubricating oil is of the brand required by the equipment, and whether it meets the requirements of the equipment
